Barrio Antiguo 2003
Recession hit hard in Monterrey Mexico and we decided to follow my dad's passion in Houston. My dad Francisco always had passion collecting street, soda/beer signs, antique Mexican doors, unique rare ironwork and would resale them to many Houston antique shops. We were given a chance to rent this spot on Yale where there were hardly any businesses nearby back then. Many would tell us that we were too far away from all the fun (19th St) and we would not survive. We had to find a way to get drivers attention by placing lots of our inventory on the side of the street. It worked!.. We have grown and doubled our size. We now own our current location and next door where we have our outdoor showroom. Barrio will be turning 8 this year and we thank everyone one of you who have supported us and continue to support us. We continue to be a family and now bigger family. Meet my family
